How Important Is Your Healthy Gut?

The digestive system is vital to ensure nutrient absorption of the food we eat. The moment we put something in our mouth, the stomach prepares for absorption and elimination. Digestion is the process that enables food to provide the nourishment we need to thrive.

A balanced diet filled with whole foods promotes healthy digestion and takes less work. We utilize the nutrients in our food as fuel and nourishment.

Food energy sources such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats offer the blueprint of nutrient content. Micronutrients provide minerals and vitamins.

A taste palette that is fun, creative, and explorative enjoys eating a variety of foods in moderation. The experience of flavors, textures, and cultures from food is the best way to broaden your perspective and taste palette!

But what happens when we are not supplying our bodies with sufficient fuel and nutrients? A diet that is not balanced and starving for quality nutrient content. The body cannot thrive in scarcity.

Maintaining a healthy gut can transform your overall quality of life. Think about how uncomfortable you feel when your stomach hurts. Hard to concentrate because you want to feel better but can't? Eating food that is fresh and high in nutrients can increase healthy gut bacteria. Local markets with fresh produce and ethically raised animals or growing your food! Being more conscious about your food consumption can transform our perspective on food consumption and mindful eating.

Many diseases and illnesses start in the gut. Ingestion is the quickest way to your soul; conscious consumption is critical. Many farming techniques have changed due to an increased population and consumption, resulting in mass production. One of the main variables removed during mass production is the health risk of those consuming the food.

Essential household items (food and misc.) on our weekly grocery list have ingredients filled with harmful preservatives. Food dyes, texturizers, and many more additives can cause harm and disrupt our organ systems. Every time we consume food, we either feed or fight a disease. Most of our DNA is from the microbiome. This unique and beneficial process helps metabolize and makes vitamins. The microbiome helps break down and produce energy and is vital in digestion and a healthy immune system.
